Xiangyunsha, also known as "Xiangyunsha", was originally called "Langsha". It originated in the Song Dynasty. It is a silk fabric dyed with vegetable dyes, yam, and is the only silk fabric dyed with pure vegetable dyes in the world. It is known as "soft gold" in the textile industry. Xiangyunsha has many advantages. It is refreshing and soft, has good sun and water fastness, is easy to wash and dry, is thin and not easy to wrinkle, is soft and has a strong body, and is durable. It has been exported to Europe, America, India, Southeast Asia and other places. It is praised by overseas people as "black shining pearl" clothing and has become a famous product of Chinese silk.
In June 2008, the dyeing and finishing techniques of Xiangyun yarn were listed as a national intangible cultural heritage. On July 6, 2011, the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine approved the implementation of geographical indication product protection for "Xiangyun yarn".
